Personal development is a lifelong process. In the pursuit of becoming the best version of ourselves, we need to recognize that it’s okay to be a work-in-progress and a masterpiece simultaneously.

Books are powerful resources that enable us to learn from each other and constantly grow.

I’ve been working on OpportuniMe, a platform that is focused on personal development, career development, and mental + financial wellness. I am also a full-time college student and young professional. Making time to read books outside of my academic curriculum can be challenging.

One of my goals for the new year is to try and create time for reading books of my choice and through recommendations from dear friends and mentors. So here’s a challenge to myself: read one book per month. Write and share reflections and what I’ve learned, including action steps to put what I’m learning into practice. The books on my list are on the topics of personal development, stock investing, real estate investing, starting out a career, business and entrepreneurship, minimalism, relationships, and self love.

With that said, my 2021 reading list picks are:

The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by don Miguel Ruiz

Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear

Cash Flow Secrets: Real Estate, Investing & Wealth Management Principles They Failed To Teach You In School by Willie Mandrell

More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth

Happy Sexy Millionaire: Unexpected Truths about Fulfillment, Love, and Success by Steven Bartlett

Solid Ground: How I Built a 7-Figure Company at 22 with Zero Capital by Sevetri Wilson

The Only Woman in the Room: Knowledge and Inspiration from 20 Women Real Estate Investors

Strategize to Win: The New Way to Start Out, Step Up, or Start Over in Your Career by Carla Harris

How I Invest My Money: Finance experts reveal how they save, spend, and invest by Joshua Brown

The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brene Brown

Blaze Your Own Trail: An Interactive Guide to Navigating Life with Confidence, Solidarity and Compassion by Rebekah Bastian

Supermaker: Crafting Business On Your Own Terms by Jaime Schmidt

How To Build An Empire by Ali Kriegsman

Awaken the Giant Within : How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial Destiny! by Tony Robbins

I am also open to more suggestions, and will be compassionate with myself through this process. I will be writing a blog post to reflect on what I’m learning in each book. Currently, I am reading Self-Love Workbook for Women by Megan Logan and it has been a game-changer for me. Stay tuned for a blog post on it! Comment book recommendations below.
